If you can, wait a couple of more weeks as the new core2duo models will come out. Also i warn you that the mbp will run very hot.

It should be pretty free of problems. I believe all the MBP problems have been sorted out. Mine is fine.
Runs cool, unless under a heavy load, and considering the power it has, it can take a lot before it gets anywhere near hot.
You should see the C2D's come out soon (hopefully within a month). So if you really want to, you can wait. though you won't miss out on too much. And they may run hotter (though supposidly they're able to run at a lower voltage now).

Actuallly you'll miss out on a lot; mainly 64 bit support for upcoming OS and applications.

I'd wait if I were you -- especially when spending so much on a MBP.

True, except that both OS 10.5 and Vista will be available in 32-bit and 64-bit versions, with no difference, and virtually all apps will still be 32-bit. As I and many others have said before, by the time 64-bit is the only choice, Merom will be no more capable of running things than Yonah. It is so far off that both would struggle.

You should be placed on a pedestal, and declared King for that comment.

This is exactly what I try to say, everytime this whole should I wait for merom and this 64 bit conversations.

Remember too, that 64 bit isn't new. It's been around for several years for desktops and a long time for server platforms.
But yeah, there will be no apps that you can't run if you have 32 bit processor for many many years.

This might be a stupid question but whats the difference between 64 bit and 32 bit.
