    Hello.

I've got a MBP which I recieved about a week ago, with Max OS X 1.4. I've used Boot Camp beta 1.4, created a partition and installed Windows XP.

The thing is that I want to make my Windows XP-partion bigger. Can I do this when I install Leopard? And how do I install Leopard so that I keep my Windows XP partion intact?

Do I simply install Leopard over the old OS X 1.4, and Leopard (which has Boot Camp built in?) will detect the Windows XP automatically? And is there some kind of tool built-in that will allow me to make the WinXP-partion bigger?

Sorry if I'm asking stupid questions, I just want my upgrade from 1.4 to Leopard go as smoothly as possible.

Yea if you install leopard it should detect your BC partition, and I think its easier to use leopard to resize the partition. There are ways to resize it using terminal commands but I ran in to problems when I was doing it (lost all my info)

So I can't recommend using terminal, but you can do it in tiger if you want to.

And I'm pretty sure that was one of the new features in full bootcamp, was resizing your BC partition.

Yeah I'm only paying 10$ for my Leopard, and I have WinXP on a spearate partion. The question is how do I install Leopard so that I still can use the Windows partion, and is it possible to make the windows partion bigger with Leopard/Boot Camp, or when I install Leopard? (Without formatting the windows partion) :)

Installing leopard will not touch your boot camp partition. When you open your windows partition just insert the leopard dvd and that will update your bootcamp drivers. To make bootcamp partition's bigger, just use disk utility or bootcamp's assistant. Easy as pie. It's actually easier in leopard because you can resize partitions on the fly without restarting.

    Ok sounds good.

Will disk utility or boot camp's assistant format the Windows XP partion, or will all my data be intact? :)

I'm not completely sure about resizing the Windows and OS X partitions with Disk Utility. Mac OS X 10.5: About resizing disk partitions. It's a nice new feature and it appears to work:

Anytime you resize any partition you risk corrupting the file system and losing all data. Have you successfully resized your Windows or OS X partitions? Just asking, I didn't click the Partition button. ;)

    Mithzamon,

If you plan to perform an "Upgrade Installation" and have the Logitech Control Center and/or Application Enhancer installed, you should uninstall that software before installing Leopard. See this document for more information.
