Hey guys. I have a question.

I am considering a new notebook in a month or two. and the Macbook Pro is in my list. I am wondering if the GeForce 320M has been benchmarked, and if it's signifcantly better than the 9400M GT, and if it can handle StarCraft 2 and maybe some acceleration in FireWorks and Photoshop?

    thanks

I don't think it would have much of a problem... it hasn't had extensive benchmarking, but its shown to be easily twice as fast as the 9400m. doubt it would have a problem with any of those things.

here is the benchmark page in laptopmag's review...

it is a shockingly good GPU - the fact that it is an IGP is amazing

QFT! I'm very surprised at how well games run. ME2 maxed out except for AA and AF at 1280 x 800!

I know the older gen 15" can run sc2. 8600gt? or 8700gt... one of those. It ran fine on my friends mac on medium settings.

I don't know how 'hardcore' you are with sc2, but most of the high level players right now all play on LOW settings to be able to differentiate their units much better.

I play Starcraft 2 beta on Windows 7 (Boot Camp), and it can max it out on 1440x900.

I'm sure the final version will be more polished in terms of performance, so expect the new Macbook Pros to handle Starcraft 2 beautifully!

I was looking into the same question as you, and it seems like the 320m is amazing for an IGP.
I found some videos on youtube of someone playing games on it and its pretty ridiculous how well some of them run. Heres the link
This seems like a great little machine for light gaming.

Sorry my bad. I keep confusing the 320M with the 330 I have in my 15" inch.

    Sorry :(
