Hey guys, will warcraft 3 frozen throne run a lot worse on Mac OS then vista? Just woundering cause it seems like vista takes up tons of battery and if i can play a game for longer on OS X, that would be awesome.

It'll run worse, but seeing how old the game is, it won't even be noticeable.

Because of OS X's poor implementation of OpenGL. While OpenGL is a technically faster language/library than DirectX, Apple has never really nailed down exactly how they should incorporate it.

This is one of the things that I was hoping they might update with Leopard :(

Yeah it's all about DirectX. This is one of the reasons there aren't a lot of games for macs.

WoW plays fine on OS X. It just depends on your hardware. If you try to run it on something like an old Powerbook or iBook, it will run poorly.
Even the older MB (not sure how the new ones run it) can run it okay, and the MBP, iMac, and Mac Pro will handle it at max settings flawlessly, even during large raids.

Well if all you're going to play is games like Warcraft III and WoW then the 8600M GT is just fine.

8600M GT is more than good on a game like WoW.
