I just jumped ship and purchased a MBP. So far so good, but how do I view the applications on the full screen? Programs such as Safari, and Word. My old eyes is have a hard time seeing this thing. Thanks

You can't maximize to full screen on a Mac. I don't think. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

But even when you drag, it still doesn't quite cover the whole screen the way a PC would.

This topic has been debated for a while, I think this article explains the difference between Windows Maximize and Mac Zoom.

There are programs that let you hide or autohide the menu bar. Go to www.versiontracker.com and search for "hide menu bar"

It's the Green + in the Upper Left Corner of a Window.

I'm not sure what you exactly mean...if you mean zooming into the screen hold down the Control key, place two fingers on the touchpad and slide upwards (towards the keyboard).

That's a different zoom function altogether. In the article I posted above they refer to the "Green +" as Zoom. I actually never knew what to call it before. And now that you mention it, it is confusing to call it Zoom. I'll probably still call it "the Green Plus Sign Button".

Although if you go to the Menu and select Window --> Zoom, your Mac will do the same thing as if you had pressed "the Green Plus Sign Button" (aka Zoom).

Just in case... for anyone who may be confused by the color of the button, if you go to System Preferences --> Appearance and change the Appearance color from Blue to Graphite, like magic the "Green Plus Sign Button" is now the "Graphite Plus Sign Button". Same button, different color.

Not just the green button ;). All three buttons turn graphite. Personally I feel Mac OS X needs more customization options, more colour schemes. I like the Spotlight and Apple icon on the Menu Bar to be graphite, but I want the three window buttons to stay red, yellow and green.
