Does this entire promotion set off a chime in anyone else's head that apple's trying to move their current stock of ipods for some reason? Speculation welcome :)

Yeah but it has to be a Mac Laptop profiled with capabilty of an iPod. It is a reat deal though. I would by a Mac right away, if I were rich. Ne way, yeah. This promotion has always been out!

yeah they did this promotion last year with the ipod minis... a discontinued line!

i heard that apple recently placed large orders for flash memory, which could mean a bigger harddrive for the nano? i hope the video ipods remain on top through 2007, seeing as i just bought one...

Strange that you have to purchase from a campus authorized re-seller. Why not allow students (like myself) to purchaser from any authorized re-seller and require a student i.d., etc. to verify the purchaser is a student. I don't want to open another credit account with apple when I already have one set up at an apple authorized re-seller. I am one of the few without an ipod, so these restrictions are a bit frustrating to me as I was considering purchasing a MacBook. I would like to inquire about my situation, but I wouldn't know who to call or if there is any way around these terms.

yeah, over the past years apple has been consistent with a back to school rebate thing. Your local retailers might do similar stuff later in the year, FYI. I remember compusmart throwing in ms office teacher/student mac edition last year.
