Does anyone know of any free video converters for OSX?

Specifically, I'm looking go to for .avi to .mpeg or .mp4. I've seen a couple to convert to iPod formats, but that's not what I'm looking for.

A quick Google search didn't yield me any results. Do you happen to have a link to it, please?

I would also recommend handbrake. Cross-platform and does a great job of converting videos for my iPhone.

ffmpegx is also free and should satisfy your needs.

Also, there's an export function in VLC that can sometimes handle things other applications can't.

iSquint is good, and HandBrake for converting DVDs for iPod formats. Remember, make sure you have the right to watch the videos :).
