I just migrated from W7 to OS X and love it so far but was wondering if there was a way to have the folders show thumbnails instead of just the plain blue folder. Maybe I'm just spoiled because later versions of Windows had that. If anyone is wondering this is what I am talking about. Thanks again.

Appreciate it, I turned on the x-ray finder but I still have to hold the space bar down. The windows way is much nicer.

here's another method I've found, if you're adept using programs like Photoshop if you have 1 picture in mind to represent your folder:

    1. Open the image in photoshop
    2. Click file then save as
    3. Click format and select PICT Resource
    4. hit OK
    5. save as a jpeg at maximum quality (may not work otherwise)
    6. hit OK
    7. Click on the folder you want to change, right-click and select Get Info
    8. Copy the saved rsr file and Paste it onto the small folder in the top left corner of the Get Info window.

    ---------------------

most people seem to recommend 300x300 resolution.

this approach appears to be more technical, but doing it seems to work. and with it being a photoshop, you can use a single picture, or make your own custom 300x300 image collage and use that.

too bad it's not as intuitive as Windows, but what can you do. I agree, it's too bad it's not easier. maybe Apple will do something about this in the future. users having to make their own images by hand is very obtuse.

Thanks, tired that and just don't care for the look. If anything I did find out its hitting the spacebar brings up a preview which I like. Thanks again for the info :D
