I am trying to delete a file on my desktop using Fn+Del, but its not doing anything. I know the Fn key is working because i tested it and it is giving me a response, i have rebooted the computer and still nothing.

    Any ideas?

Try and make sure that it is high-lighted, and see if that does anything. Relaunch Finder by chance?

EDIT: It's Command > Delete, just worked for me. ;)

Yup, all you have to do is System Preferences > Keyboard/Mouse > Keyboard Shortcuts and there you can set the combos the way you like it. ;)

googling said Fn+Delete is a normal delete, and that the Delete by itself is like a backspace... thats nothing to do with deleting files, thats just normal function. Apple requires Cmd+Del for deleting files, so it isn't accidently done, even on full keyboards that have both backspace and Del... so if your like typing a paper up and you want to do Delete, it is still Fn+Delete...
