when trying to install the latest version of Flip4Mac i've got a warning saying that the program modified or need access to kernel or what not.... then ask for password.

    i forgot the exact wording.

    - what does the warning says/means?
    - why does the warning comes up? this is the only program with this warning, even techtool program doesnt do this.
    - anyone else get this?
    - is it ok to okay it?

i install it (ok it). no ill effect. but i would hate if flip4mac is changing the kernel like a haxies program or antivirus program. the old flip4mac doesnt do this.

Are you talking about the prompt asking you (as an admin) to authenticate an action (in this case installing Flip4Mac)? By default, all processes only have user privileges and need to be given permission by an admin when ever they try to do something like modify system files. I almost always get a prompt whenever I install something.

+1 YEP! Normal (pretty much) Mac update/installation behaviour.

    cheers ...

yeah, a warning to authenticate i authorize the program and that i was an admin. it is just not the same like normal, update/install behavious, because it also comes with a warning about it modifying system file or something..

when installing its previous version, i had not receive this warning.

    usually it likes this:
    with a simple authetication: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3r3YRlJc8-w
    with no authentication: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fiLnDyQ9Rdo

but the latest version comes with a warning that explain that it wants to modify the system/kernel or something. i cant remember if its at the warning is at the end, or the begining, or is it just a warning requiring to click continue or not. sorry for this.

It is typical again of Mac installation/update behaviour. It will prompt for password to elevate control when it sees fit. One application can be asked 1 or more times, or none at all. There is no standard or rules.

    cheers ...
