My flashdrive was originally formatted on a windows PC. Now that I have a Mac again, Im trying to use it on here. OSX doesn't even want to read the thing. It is a Sandisk Cruzer Micro...the light turns orange, but nothing pops up. How do I get this thing to work on my mac.

    Thanks

    Josh

It should be formatted in FAT32. That way both Windows and OS X can use it... usually they are formatted that way by default. I believe you can format it using Disk Utility.

Yeah, your flash drive should be in FAT32 format so both OSes can read and write to it. Using Disk Utility, choose MSDOS for FAT32.

That's weird considering most flash drives are originally formatted in FAT32, unless someone reformatted it to NTFS or some similar format OS X cannot read.

But he mentions the flash drive does not even appear on his desktop and cannot be read. NTFS can be viewed and read, but cannot be written in OS X, so maybe he's having a different problem?
