(most of the info I've found on these questions refer to Tiger, not Leopard...)

Thanks to the Dell debacle of this summer, I now own a MBP, instead of a 1520. Now that I've got all my preferences set up, and some fun games and widgets downloaded...

In my security/firewall preferences, should it be set to "allow" or "block" all incoming connections?

Do I need to turn FireVault on? I'm afraid of forgetting the password if I do...

Sharing - do I need to check any of these boxes if it is just my compter on the network?

Given that there seems to be a growth in Mac viruses, should I have some software installed? If so, what do you reco? (I had Norton on my PC - talk about a heavy footprint...)

FYI - I'm set up on a WPA network on a Linksys router

Thanks in advance for your help - looking forward to your input as this site has given me a lot of great info already...

FileVault had some buggyness back in the day. Not sure if that's still the case.

If you are not sharing files, you do not need to turn on any sharing.
