Anyone else having this issue? I'm running leopard and today I could not post in several online forums. Myspace.com it says "Length Required"

It works fine with Safari. I dragged firefox from my applications to the trash and deleted it. Redownloaded and installed it using Safari. I still have the same issues.

Somehow it also remembered all my favorites and such to.

How do I get rid of everything from firefox to do a complete fresh install of it to see if that fixes the problem?

It wouldn't let me post here either. I'm now posting this with Safari.

Programming made by amateurs, that's the problem. Somewhere on Firefox's page there is a part in which you can read where it installs all it's stuff. Can't find it now.
Anyway, someone will post here soon.

i used to get similar problems. download and use enough extensions and something is bound to be incompatible and corrupt your profile/settings. no more problems after i stopped using firefox =P

you can probably dig up the profile folder through spotlight.
or this site will tell you: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
i recommend exporting your bookmarks to somewhere safe before doing a complete uninstall and reinstall of firefox. you'll lose your settings, but it should clear up your problem.

I deleted firefox again and then I deleted the folder here. Users/Library/application support.

When I downloaded it again with safari and installed it it wanted me to import book marks from safari. I declined it. I went straight to a forum here. Logged in and it will NOT let me make a new post.

What gives. What else can erase to make sure everything is gone from firefox?

Have you installed anything recently? It sounds like an issue outside of Firefox itself.

Make sure javascript is enabled, that you don't have noscript installed, and figure out if you ran any updates recently.

You're having a javascript problem of some sort, but it sounds like you've only got issues in one account.

Try making another account, and seeing if it fails there too.

It's working fine in Safari. Firefox has always worked just fine in windows or os x in the past without any updates or settings necessary.

So that would mean that something in your ~/Library ( /Users/name/Library ) folder is screwing it up. What exactly, I haven't the foggiest...

I'd start with the Widgets and Preference panels. Make an empty folder on the desktop and drag both of those into it, and log back in or restart. If that doesn't work, try the "Binary method", dragging half the items from your user Library folder over, then half of the remaining, etc, etc, separating them each time, until the problem is gone.
Drag back all the items that didn't cause the problem and confirm the problem is still solved.

Then with the quarantined folder of possibly bad items, do the binary method again, and drag half back, and confirm, until you pinpoint the problem.

Keep in mind, you will generate files in the Library folder when starting up. You can overwrite those.
