I'm using the standard cable that came with my external hard disk. While it plugs in securely at the back of the hard disk enclosure, the FireWire 800 port on my MBP seems very weak, as there's lots of wiggling and barely tapping the wire will cause it to shift and lose connection.

Is this a design flaw? Does anyone have any solutions for this?

Edit: Also, unlike the USB ports, the FireWire 800 port doesn't seem to "click" or grasp the FireWire 800 cable. The FireWire cable plugged into the back of the hard disk does "click" as if it were secured/grasped.
