Just picked up my first MBP 15.4" from my local FEDEX office and went straight to my first one-to-one training....WOW, I just love this machine, and my girlfriend is so relieved that I'm not spending every waking minute on Notebookreview. After months of careful research on this website, and several visits to my local Mac store, I took the plunge. Thanks to everyone on here for answering all my nagging questions, especially Sam (fellow Canuck) in Vancouver. Seriously, the indecision was so straining on my relationship, she actually donated 500 bucks towards the cause just so that I would hurry up and buy SOMETHING. I'm so glad I waited, because all the refreshes are in my system, and the price dropped $100 (Canadian) from the previous version. All of the problems and frustrations I had with Dell seemed to wash away when I opened up the box containing my new Mac. I'm really looking forward to learning the new OS. The one-to-one's should be very handy. Cheers!!!

The OS is obviously an adjustment, however the one-on-one sessions are a great bargain for $99. (for 54 1-hour lessons). I can already see some "smarter" functions with OS-X compared to Windows XP & Vista. I can see myself enjoying this OS far more than Windows once I become familiar with it. I have another one-on-one tomorrow morning, so I am preparing a list of questions. One of the best things about Apple is the camaraderie of the owners and everyone's willingness to help each other out. I will probably install Vista Home Premium on here at some point, but I'm in no rush. As far as the hardware quality goes, it is absolutely impeccable. Believe me, I looked VERY VERY closely for any scratches, finger prints, cookie crumbs and found NOTHING. This machine came to me via Barrie / Mississauga / Alaska / China, and appears to be perfect. My only problem is I can't put it down!!!!!

Make sure you learn the most important thing about ownership of a new Apple product. Don't forget you still have a girlfriend. She might get jealous of the new laptop (And not because she wants to use it or have one, but because you'll be up at 4am screwing around on the laptop and not her).

That computer sure got itself around the world! I've been to the first three locations too myself.

Yep, and Front Row is really cool with the remote. I can't wait to get this puppy hooked up to my stereo at home. This thing ROCKS!!! Had lesson #2 at one-to-one today. It was great (just as I expected).

    Making music! :p

Or making podcasts...but yeah, most of the time, GarageBand is either a godsend or useless, depending on whether it is useful to you for what you do :).

Is the 512mb 8600m gt a waste, since the graphic card only has 128-bit memory?
