Hey, I need to buy a laptop for video editing. I dont do ANY gaming and absolutely need to know whether I can run FCS2 on a macbook even though its only got an integrated intel x3100 graphics card. I know its not supported. BUt my logic is that video editing is mainly cpu and ram based. SInce there are no 3D graphics implied, there should be no reason for it to have any problems. Am I wrong?

I heard it doesn't run. You could however go and buy the previous version
of Final Cut Pro and use that. FCS 2 has improved HD codec support and
has Motion 2 but if you don't need those features ......

I don't see why it wouldn't run... the macbook has integrated graphics that are capable of running 3D apps. I don't see why a 2D program wouldn't run. the only thing I can think of is that the integrated card can't handle HD video.

Final Cut Pro runs fine on my Macbook. Motion suffers from the integrated graphics, but if you don't use that extensively, you will be fine with a Macbook.

you won't have any problems, motion is not extremely intensive in terms of real time rendering in 3D, shot that isn't a major issue either.
