I just recently purchased a new external HD, and would like to move all my files from my current external HD to the new one. However, when I drag and drop in Finder, I keep getting error messages saying my file already exists, or a password prompt or something after copying a few dozen GB of data, causing the whole process to stop and forcing me to restart copying from point zero.

Is there an application that will make me copy all my files from one external HD to the other successfully? Both HDs are FAT32. I have tried Carbon Copier or something, but that doesn't seem to want to work on my Intel Mac. I have also tried creating a disk image of my older HD, but disk utility is taking far too long.

    Problem solved.

In case you're wondering, I just used the ditto command in Terminal to copy all my files over.

The moral of this story is: Finder is crap at copying files compared to Terminal.
