Anyone know of any (preferrably 2D) games like Melty Blood / Street Fighter that are Mac native? Need something to keep me occupied on the train to uni.

An arcade emulator would be the best option; though MacMAME doesn't seem to work properly. Arcade versions of games like SF are the best versions, needless to say.
On the other hand, you'd probably need a gamepad or a cheap external keyboard on which to play.....I don't think my MacBook can endure an hour or so of obsessive SF playing. -

Wow...
Major rep up for even knowing of MB...I didn't think anyone on this forum would have heard of it
Oh wait nm..it's Lysander pft..of course you'd know of it
Have you tried MB/Re-Act, Final Tuned, Cadenza A, B, etc.?
There's also a new Actress version coming out too...
No clue about Mac-native fighting games.
If you're willing to do the Boot Camp thing...
Have you ever tried Fatal/Fake?
It's a 2d fighting game for Fate/Stay-Night. You'll need to set your language to Japanese to install/play it like you would any japanese game (e.g. melty blood), so I'm sure you know how to do that already.

If you're willing to try nonfighting games:
You could try "Natsuiro no Sunadokei" (hourglass of summer), which is sortta like a visual novel, except it's a DVD. Of course being a DVD is what makes it playable on a Mac natively as well
(on the other hand, being a DVD, it's not quite as smooth as a real visual novel adaptation and it's rather large (8GB). Still not a horrible game.
