    1. for the yellowish problem.
The LED screen with glossy finish appears very yellow when not looked from the center. That is, the horizontal viewing angle is wide, but the "real" viewing angle is not that good (unless you are Ok with a yellow cast)

    2. the LED LCD is unevenly lit only if the brightness is very low (for example 1 or 2 bars), you won't see a screen shot like the one in the second link very often because you almost never decrease the brightness to that level (even in a completely dark room).

    3. The gradient problem: I have it on my MBP, but I don't think anyone can notice it in daily use. You can only see it in LCDTest (unless you are a really gifted artist who is very very sensitive to colors, i'd call you "abnormal" if you can tell that in daily use).

Dell LCDs are problematic since they are still plagued with grainy/oily/sparkling problem (however you call it). Apple LCDs are better because there was a class action law suit against apple two years ago about the grainy LCDs and I guess they addressed it already.

No screen is perfect. Not even the MacBook Pro LED displays. Mine is as close to, but you can still make out a slight unevenness in the lighting, especially on a black screen.

But it's nothing compared to the issue I had with my 13.3" Sony Vaoi with LED display.... sheesh!

I haven't heard any widespread issues with the LED-backlit MBP. Some early yellowing issues, but even then it seemed barely noticeable. I wouldn't worry about it :).
