    I have a thinkpad T41. Do you think the mb or mbp will be louder than the T41 or quieter? This is important to me since I will be leaving the laptop on right beside me when I do work.

    Well, I've never heard the fan on the T41.
    I can't hear my fans in my MBP, even when I have them at 2000rpm. Which is rare.
