I am going to buy a mac in the near future and am currently conducted the research stage of my purchase.

I have been to a shop to see the MB and the MBP in real and am very very impressed with them.

I am going to be using my new computer for some medium gaming and i'm wondering which will give me more "bang for my buck"

So, what FPS can i expect on the following games: Unreal Tournament 3, WoW, COD:WaW, battlefield Series and L4D. On med- high settings using the Macbook and the Macbook Pro

And also which would you recommend? Any macbook user that wishes they upgraded to Macbook Pro?

    Thanks :)

I recommend the MacBook it has SO MUCH MORE POWER

I wish to well technically "downgrade" to the MacBook Pro since its so much bigger and uses way more power but the screen size and technicallity makes games actually run SLOWER on it

So if you want to trade im up :D

    Yes, extreme sarcasm intended...

Unless you have $$$ and want to help a student out ill gladly upgrade to a MacBook Pro :D

    But ok, seriously...
Macbook Pro all the way, the 9400M in the MacBook will run those games at Low-Med at best vs 9600M GT in the MacBook Pro

Alright thanks. Macbook pro it is, now all i need to figure out is whether to go for the 2.4ghz processor version or the 2.66 version... How much will it affect performance by? is it futureproof?

I assume you are talking about the 15" and in that case hell freaking no. That processor is 260 MHz faster and cost $400. You get a slightly bigger hard drive (320 > 250) and 4GB of ram as opposed to 2GB. You can upgrade the ram and hard drive yourself for $75 bucks so you are paying $325+ for 260 Mhz.

    Would strongly recommend against it.

Thanks. The 2.4 system it is. All I need to do now is wait for the beginning of August as i will be buying then to use when i head off to university. it's such a painful wait.

i know it's a bit of a vague question but can i expect any sort of refresh between now and then (I'm hoping snow leopard will come before then :) )
