i use external pocket drive on both windows and mac, on mac; when i disconnect it there is this sudden light blip in the "HD busy light", suggesting that there is a disk activity, why is this happening? is it safe? coz this problem don't occur in windows.

Can't say that I know exactly why, that sounds more like something your specific drive would do rather than something that a Mac would automatically do.

But anyway, I just wanted to make sure that you do disconnect it properly (unmount it in Finder)? If you don't I guess you could see that kind of activity just as it disconnects. Just a theory though.

i believe a little bit of activity right when you unmount is normal. It should stop right after. OS X seems to stop something that it has on that drive. Such as spotlight indexing or something.

what i meant by disconeciting is pulling the plug. when i unmoint yes there is disk activity; so i wait, i know its normal. but what cause the pocket drive to be active when i pulled the plug?

Just a few bumpy roads when people start out, happens to some and some it doesn't but OS X is wonderful operating system, I always feel like I get stressed out when I have to work with windows at school and work, but when I get back home and hop on my Mac machine, I feel great again.
