    Hi all,

So I'm trying to decide between a Macbook and Macbook Pro. I'm thinking about getting a Macbook, and if it suits my needs I'll keep it. Otherwise, I'll go back in and exchange for a Macbook Pro.

My concern is the restocking fee though - anyone had experience having it waived, etc?
    Thanks in advance.

the only reason it would be waived is if there was a problem with the computer itself.

They would never waive it unless there was a problem with the computer. That's what i'm guessing.

There not a rental shop, they sell notebooks that's part of the reason they have a restocking fee.

The Apple store in Century city on Santa Monica Bld in LA told me i cant return mine if it's opened.

Didn't know you could return them to get better ones dang it they must have lied to me.

I have asked them if i didn't like it could i return it to get a better one they said no.

I think it depends on the store and your attitude in dealing with the clerk. I had to return a macbook and they did waive the fee. The only reason I brought it back was due to it not being compatible with my printer. They were great, I didn't even ask they offered!

They are also more liable to waive the restocking fee if you're buying a more expensive Apple product. That's been my experience. So go for the MacBook first.
