If I bought the intel core 2 duo ati x1600 128mb in december could i exchange it now for one of the newer models?
-
Not really, there isn't a 6 month return policy.
Your best bet if you wanted the new model would be to sell your current MBP and use the funds plus additional money to buy a new model.
Frankly, I'd stick with what you have, unless you just really really want the features in the new MBP. -
Somehow I don't think that will work.
-
look at it differently, how efficient is your current MBP for what you are using it for? My guess is, perfectly efficient, if not more than what you need. sure you could sell your current computer, buy a new one, and in 4-5 months you can do the same thing, then do the same, then do the same . . . you get my point.
if doing that seems worth your time, and won't get in the way of what you are currently using the computer for, definitely would be a huge issue for me, then go ahead and do it, finding a buyer shouldn't be hard, but you will have to sell it for significantly yes to convince someone to buy yours instead of a new model, obviously.
of course you can't exchange it for a newer model after this long, wouldn't that be wonderful, haha. -
yeah i mostly use it for gaming and WoW and it's been doing fine for that it's just that it can run choppy sometimes and I just want it to run as smooth as possible you know?

i know this is probably utterly inconvenient, but WoW will run somewhat faster in windows xp than in osx.
ever considered bootcamp for the long wow sessions? -
ok first question, you got a Mac to use for gaming?
2nd, WoW is not running well on the X1600? should be running very well, definitely shouldn't have problems with WoW. and shouldn't be playing it anyway
nah don't worry about this upgrade, even if you blindingly rich, you will lose valuable, game time, right? I have never played those types of games but I here it is important, haha.
grab another 1gb stick of ram while they are so cheap, I think under $50 now right? and be happy with what you have, shouldn't be too hard with that Machine.
trust me, I know a looooot about incremental upgrades, if you don't believe me look at my sig, of course it was nice to see the performance improvement for each model, but would it be worth the money or time to upgrade, it just wouldn't. -
