I've had my mbp 2.2 for about 3.5 weeks now and I like using os x very much. However, from the start, I had the LCD problem (which did not fix with the update) and now I am also having ram (beachball) problems. Luckily, the retailer I got it from is nice enough to offer an exchange. The reason I couldn't do it and still can't is because new batch of mbp has still not come in. My question is, should I exchange it for another mbp 2.2? or should I get a mb 2.16? The reason I am considering the mb is because of its tougher casing and better portability. I take my mbp out everyday and although it's not bugging me a whole lot, I would prefer a bit smaller one. Grpahics wise, I would love to keep the 8600GT but can't if I go to the mb. Another thing is the ram which the mb only has 1 gig of. I would have to spend another $100 or so to get it to 2 gigs. Pricing of mbp 2.2 is $2099 and MB 2.16 is $1449. What should I do? Do you guys know if the SR MB's are coming out any soon?

I would wait for another 2.2 GHz MacBook Pro. I personally like the MacBook Pro more (who doesn't? ;)) and I see no reason why you would want to "downgrade".

Also, the MacBook Pro is only slightly heavier but has a larger LED screen as well as a larger resolution.

I would wait for another MBP.
