I got the 2.0 ghz macbook less than a month ago and when I bought it the salesperson told me it had a backlit keyboard and that was an important feature to me. Unfortunately, he seemed to misunderstand my question and now I want the upgraded version. Will Apple exchange my current Macbook for the 2.4 ghz if I am willing to pay for the price difference/stocking fee?

I'm pretty sure he's talking about switching the lower end MB for the Higher end MB. ;) And I'm not too sure about switching it after one month, because I thought the return policy was 2 weeks, upgrading or not. I may be wrong but I'm almost positive. :p

i think the return policy is 2 weeks with no restocking fee. 30 days you can but there is a % restocking fee. for computers it works out to about 250 bucks.

i have the 2.0 ghz version and i do regret every day not getting the 2.4 with the lit keyboard. its such a cool feature to have.

pack everything up bring it down. tell em i want to exchange this for a higher end model. this is missing features i want. they should do it np if its within 30 days. you may get hit with a restocking fee. if it wasnt to late for me id totally do it myself.

It really is, and I don't think I could go without it. :p I recommend it to all people who aren't the best at touch typing. ;)

Most places only have a 14 day return/exchange period on computers so you may be out of luck. But if the sales person really did mistakenly recommend the wrong model you may have a case for an exchange. But I'm sure they're going to ask you why it took almost a month for you to realize that it was missing this "very important feature". You better have a good answer. :)
