Hi,
I've always been a PC user, but it's almost done deal I'm getting a Macbook this month. My only concern is the fact that I'm a heavy excel and office user.
Will I have problems to use these applications under Mac OX? I heard that Excel for Mac does not support VBA. Is that true? Any other shortfalls I should know about it?
I know there is always the option running windows on it, but since I'm moving to Mac, let's use the whole package then...
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Rodrigo.

Yeah, you will probably miss out on a few features. You might get one or two other features in return though. I don't use Office on Mac, so I can't say for sure.
If you need it for work, then I recommend running a bare XP install (keep it from accessing the internet and you won't need to protect it) and run Office in there. -
Office 2008 does not support VBA; prior office for mac versions do, however. perhaps you can get your hands on an older copy of office if you need VBA. i'd recommend office 2004.
also, even if you get an older version of office, not every aspect of VBA is cross-platform compatible. much of it is, but if mac VBA does not support one teeny tiny piece of code, it just wont work for you as you need it to. -
Yeah, Microsoft Office for Mac 2008 dropped VBA support. Previous versions had it, and Microsoft has announced the next version will have it, but they dropped it this time around.
But otherwise, there's no real shortfalls to Office for Mac! Its a good product! -
I have an office for mac question, well, word really.
How do I make Times New Roman size 12 font with no spaces default??? I really hate what they did to the default font in this version. Thanks!
