Hello I have a 250GB WD portable hard drive. I would like to encrypt all the data on it or password protect the hard drive. It is suppose to come with the software for this but I can't find anything on it that works with my mac. All the utilities and tools that came on it appear to be for windows. Does anyone know if I can get OSX compatible software for this or if there is an easy download that will do this for me?
    Thanks

Truecrypt is the most popular option.

You can use Truecrypt (free) to either encrypt the whole drive, or even create an encrypted volume within an encrypted volume. The benefit of this is that if you ever have to give up the password to your encrypted drive, you only have to give the first password, your second encrypted volume within the first is still safe.

There is also PGP whole disk encryption if you want to slap down some $$.
