Hi, I was looking at getting a HDTV tuner for my MB, and I found the Elgato EyeTV. It looks like a nice HDTV Tuner for a reasonable price. I was wondering if anybody has one, and if you like it? If I were to get one, I saw that is has a feature that allows you to play your Xbox 360 on your MB. I was wondering if I could use my MB's wireless card as wireless connection for Xbox live. Also, is there a better price than Newegg.com for one? Thanks!

It works fine, although it will only work for over the air hdtv. last time i checked, you couldnt connect the cable line to get hdtv, only antenna.

You can play your xbox on your laptop, though it wont be hd. it will be standard def.

The latest version does allow for your cable line to be directly connected for HDTV and you can also install a cable box as well. It does have a port for connection to any external video device such as the Xbox 360 with very little latency.
I have an EyeTV Hybrid connected to my 24" iMac and it's great. No issues at all.
You can get it for $99.00 U.S at Elgato's website.

Oops: Edit, the price is on sale at $119.95

It's NOT going to be a solution for the Xbox 360. It may technically work, but it'll look terrible-low resolution, and at least some input lag.

You need a real monitor or HDTV.

Yes I know it's not going to be a full time companion for my Xbox 360. I'm looking foward to getting a HDTV pretty soon. :D . @ HLDan: Thanks a lot! :)

I've got one, attached to regular cable. It works great for me, having very limited desk space, and it helps me watch TV while I do other stuff (Being that my 22" desktop screen has enough space to have a decent sized TV area, and everything else)

You can get them refurbished for a better price at OWC, if you care about price.
