    Anyway its cool that this is coming to the Mac Pro, Hopefully this reflects what apple might put in the imac next mabe a 280m or somthing.

    Nope. The EVGA card will have different firmware - as do all other 'for Mac' video cards, while still being able to work in Boot Camp (probably, and that's if you don't mind the relatively incompatible EFI-BIOS emulation of a Boot Camp environment of course). I'm sure some enterprising guy will develop a flash hack, but it's not guaranteed.

    It's pretty shocking to see a card from actually this year come out for Macs. I do hope it's a trend - it's kind of depressing to buy a new Crap Pro and find it comes with a card I abandoned upwards of a year ago.

    My guess though with the GTX285 is that ATI still has the upper hand in writing higher-performing OS X drivers than NVidia and that there will not be gigantic differences with the 4870 in 'Mac Mode' - so it's probably more for people who've blown all their money on a Pro and can't afford a separate - and more stable - gaming PC.
