You know, there's something that always bugged me--

Whenever there's a drop-down list in any web browser in OSX, it won't recognize spaces that I type in. For example, if the drop-down list is a list of states, and I want to type in "New York" to automatically select it, it'll get to "New" and then the spacebar opens the entire list. One of the few things that bugs me in OSX that I feel Windows got right--or maybe I just missed some sort of option or workaround that's blindingly obvious?

Is there any way around this?
