Don't suppose I could get help with a G5 tower problem?

I know this is a laptop forum, but I'm not associated with any other computer boards, so I hoped somebody might have an idea on here.

I've got a 1.8GHz single processor G5 tower, and when I woke up this morning the fans were spinning at an incredibly loud dB level. I turned the monitor on, and it had a message in the middle saying "Hold the power button to turn it off" and such.

I killed the power on it, let it sit 10 minutes, and tried to fire it up. I get a solid power light, the fans spin up like usual, hard drive spools up, etc. No chime though, and no video. After about a minute or so, the fans start to spool up, and within another minute they are as loud as they were this morning.

To define loud, I'm a guy that works at a machine shop, has no mufflers on any of my cars, and listen to death metal... and I still think my fan is loud.

Can any of you guys help, or should I find a proper place to ask?

Edit; I've tried resetting PRAM, and pressed the PMU button. I've also pulled all but two RAM sticks, disconnected extra drives, and looked around for burned spots but didn't see any.

Well, after I managed to order a dual processor tower on eBay, I tampered with it a bit more, re-seated everything, tightened everything, pressed the PMU button, and reset the PRAM, it came back on...

On the plus side, I'll have a dual processor G5... and I can sell this one. So I learned a lesson in patience... and when it comes to me having a tower at home, I've got none. :D

Well, it happened again unfortunately and nothing I did previously is making it better.

I get a chime now, but that may have been because my audio was muted previously before the crash..

And unfortunately because of the holidays, I won't have a new G5 here til after new years.
