Does this happen on your MBP?

I bought a new MBP a couple week ago, and so did my brother, and we both notice the same thing:

Sometimes when we are typing (MSN, text field like this in Firefox), for a fraction of a second the computer stops accepting any input, and then fills up all the letters that I typed in a rush. It's barely noticeable, but very annoying, it's like if the computer freezes up for that short moment in time.

Has anyone else experienced this, or knows any more details about it? I can try to explain it better if you dont get the idea.

Yes, that's considered a "lag". It may have to do with the amount of RAM you have (although 1 or 2 GB should be way more than enough RAM to run applications fine).

It may have to do with MSN Messenger...which often does not work well with other applications. You may want to try using Adium instead for an IM client.

This happens on pretty much any computer at some point or another. Usually it happens with poorly coded applications or just whenever your system gets busy doing something. It'll usually be in a spike in your CPU usage. If it happens a lot, you may be having a problem with some part of OS X or a program that you're running. Maybe one of your applications has a memory leak.

I get it with Trillian sometimes, usually when my mouse is accidentally hovering over a word trillian automatically linked to Wikipedia.

I get that as well on just about any computer. Just once in a while the computer falls behind and needs to catch up.

Are you using the actual MSN client? That's your problem then. Download Adium.

Yeah I've been using the MSN client for Windows. I'll try Adium. Been hearing a lot about it so I might as well try it.
