I'm wondering if the Macbook has speedstep turned on when its on AC, becaues that can reduce the heat under the laptop. If not, does anyone know how I can turn it on?

click on the battery icon in your menu bar, it has 4 quick power options - better battery, normal, better performance, and custom.

if you want to reduce heat when on ac, choose better battery or normal. Normal will (should) adjust cpu speed depending on load, whereas battery will keep it low.

Thanks. Is there a program where I can check the current clock speed of the CPU?
