In windows Vista and XP the list constantly refreshes showing new wifi hotspots and if they are secure or unsecured etc. Is there a way to have OS X do this? I'm thinking I'm just not looking in the right place. I only know how to click the airport logo. It also doesn't show how strong the signal is.

The only thing I have seen has been widgits which I don't need running all the time. If that is the only way what is the best widget?

    Finder> Applications> Internet Connect

Or just click the AirPort symbol and choose to open Internet Connect.
