Maybe the 3610 doesn't come in a BGA part and the 3615 does?

It would have said right on the box if it had the Retina display.

As far as the CPU difference, the 3615QM has a different socket than the 3610, as well as a slightly higher frequency for the integrated GPU. Otherwise, they're the same: same base and turbo clocks, same cache, and Intel charges the same price. The 3615 might be a special order for companies for solder their CPUs.

Both versions of the Retina have a 1GB video card.

I honestly don't know if I can take this topic seriously. How would one not be able to tell whether his mac is retina or not? I mean come on, lack of Ethernet, lack of optical drive, thinner, SSD standard, side vents, etc...

some people don't pay attention to specs... they just buy something that looks cool, then later see a commercial about "retina" and have no idea what it is, so wonder if its in theirs.

Ah right, sorry seeing as I am a soon to be new mac owner myself, I am not use to this. Coming from Alienware and Clevo I guess I am just not use to such questions.

To be this rich to have a 2200 splurge just to say I have one (and then not even know that I do), lol.

Retina display is so good you can see through to the other side and communicate with Steve Jobs. If you can do that that's how you know you have a retina display. You'll have to use sign language though. Apple still doesn't know how to do the same with audio.
