    Does MAC OS like 2 gig ram?

    Is there any performance increases using 2 gig over 1 gig with mac os?

    Unlike windows which has a max of 2GB of accessible memory to the operating system, mac does not because it was built on top of unix. Basically getting down to the point unix/linux use as much memory as it can get, because the whole point of memory is to have your information on a high speed bus.

    Windows for instance on my desktop I have XP, and 1 GB of ram, most I ever seen it use was 400 something MB, when its running Gentoo it uses 1008 Mb, the whole point of memory is to USE IT ALL, not leave some left over.

    So remember the more memory space you have for such an OS like OS X the better.
