Hi everyone,
I can barely wait to buy a macbook, but I'm hesitant because I know that usually Amazon offers a rebate on Apple computers, and thus they generally have the best prices - also there is no tax for me if I order through Amazon, and that saves me another $100.
However, the Macbook isn't listed on their site yet.
Should I be patient and wait to see if they have it? Or should I just go ahead and buy?
Anyone have any advice?
Thanks
Terry

The macbook is to hot right now I don't think thet will offer rebates till after the market slows down -
Agree with what Gridtalker, eventually they will have the rebates. And usually they are around the same ammount as the Education discounts.. so your looking at around $50 for the low end and maybe $100 on the high end black. It's up to you to decide if you think it's worth waiting for
I taken for granted living in Oregon... how much is this "tax" you speak of? -
And when Amazon will start offering the rebates, people will start wondering whether they should wait for the next iteration of MB/P ('cause why would Amazon offer rebates otherwise?).

Well thankfully I didnt have to wait to long. They are offerring $100 rebates on all three models. However the Macbooks are all on preorder. i went ahead and ordered the white one with the 2.0 ghz processor and Superdrive.
I'm in New York, and in New york sales tax is 8.5% which adds about another $100 to the price, so ordering from Amazon is saving me about $200.
BTW Their rebates are very reliable, they usally take a month to two months to recieve.
Do you think Amazon will offer a rebate for Macbooks
