I am still exploring my different options on the various browsers on the Mac OS.

I am a Firefox convert for the most part, and I really do not use Safari.

I saw Camino is just for the Mac. How much better is the Camino over the Firefox browser?

camino is the same thing as firefox, just has a more os x feel to it (look at the icons and stuff), if you need the add ons stick with firefox, otherwise stick with camino, better integration with os x and lightweight as well.

I haven't followed the Camino releases in a while but they used to lag Firefox for a while. Considerations for switching to Camino can be found at the page below. You could ask at the mozillazine.org forums.

I vote chrome! Oh... wait.... :(

Yeah I use firefox. It's good.

You could also check out stainless, it's like chrome. Each tab is it's own process like chrome, but it's still not chrome.

Firefox works great for me, and is my #1 web browser. Camino seems a bit light, but FireFox has the plug-ins to be effective but not heavy either.

Firefox is the best browser for many reasons in my opinion. The main ones being easy additions with great add-ons, and the other is constant development. Not to mention how nicely integrated the latest version is, you can do everything you need with one large address bar basically.

What don't you like about Firefox on the Mac? Mozilla hired a Mac guy a few years ago (Josh) and most of the full-time developers that I've seen use Macs as their platforms. They might be running Linux on them though. A lot of the developers are more familiar with Linux and Windows - Mac OSX is not the most comfortable environment for them but it's the nicest hardware platform.

Their build and test systems are Mac Minis.

Here's a picture of a conference room with one of the sessions from Mozilla Summit 2008:

If you were in the main auditorium with the place filled with engineers, you would have felt like you were at a Mac convention.

Firefox is excellent on Windows and Linux. Firefox is getting better on OS X, but it could still be better. Despite some problems, I still prefer Firefox over Safari on Macs.
