    I'm not too sure what you're asking...do you mean "can I install applications on my Mac using the Windows CD version of it?" If so, then no, it'll have to be the Mac CD of that application.

    If you mean "can I listen to music on my CD", yes, if you mean "can I access files I saved on a CD", yes, if you mean "can I watch any DVD", yes.

    I guess he's asking whether the combo drive and the superdrive require "special" recordable media in order to work properly.

    To revise the question (if I understand it right) I might ask: Which brands of recordable media work best with Apple cd/dvd burners?

    All brands of recordable CDs or DVDs should work fine on the Combo Drive and SuperDrives found on Macs.
