    Hmm interesting. Never heard of an optic audio output. I usually associate fiber optic with video.

    I believe all current Macbooks do. That one looks current to me. The single jack on current MB's supports output only I believe.

    Apple has had this toslink audio output for years on many upper end mac's
    ALL macbooks support this
    They are great to pass Dolby Digital or dts sound tracks from movies & HDTV into your home surround sound system.
    Just purchase one of these, then you can use ANY optical toslink cable
    They are the same plug needed for the Airport express if you want digital output
