    Disable Apple light in notebook lid?

    Trying to save as much battery power as possible... is it possible to disable the Apple light in the back of the notebook lid... it doesn't appear to serve any purpose except as a mobile billboard :)

    if you are talking about the apple symbol, if you want that off, you need to turn your screen backlight off then illuminate your screen with another light source. :p

    it just lets light from the backlight out to illuminate it.

    Yeah... I think i'ts one of the coolest things ever!

    I just wonder why other companies haven't really caught on to this.

    Maybe Apple patented it? Doesn't seem too far-fetched to me at least, but I don't know for sure :)
