I had my eyes on a MB, but if the battery life and weight idfference isn't that much, then i'll consider a MBP as well. So, battery life and weight, how much of a difference between Mb and MBP?

    Differences

#1. Screen Size and resolution: MBP has larger screen size options i.e. 15" and 17" provide more screen real estate and they also have higher resolutions. The MB only has 13" screen with 1280 x 800 resolution.

#2. Graphics Card: This is probably the most important difference for me. The MBP comes with a dedicated 256mb ATI x1600 Graphics Card. If you use graphics intense programs this is a must need over the internal card of the MB.

#3. Processor: MBP has a 2.33ghz C2D processor while the MB has a 2.16 ghz C2D processor. Not much of a differece.

#4: Ram Options: The MBP has the option of up to 3gb of Ram while the MB caps out at 2gb

#5: Ports: The MBP has a DVI output and Firewire 800 ports which the MB dont have. However you can buy a DVI output cable from apple for the MB.

    Hope i didnt forget anything

The MBP line has been speculated to change sometime soon. I am personally waiting until the Apple has their WWDC from june 11-15 where they might announce a new MBP. However, the MB line will pretty much stay the same for a long time since it was just recently updated.

Well, you did! I actually knew all of that. Like I said, all i want is the weight and battery life difference, nothing else.

Battery life will be shortened because of the larger screen and the dedicated graphics. My normal battery on just web browsing/text editing with minimal brightness is around 4 hours(as opposed to 5 in MB from what I've heard). The weight is pretty much negligible. I think it was only like a 4 ounce difference in weight between the two.

edit: MB is 5.2 pounds, MBP is 5.6 http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=121940&highlight=weight+difference
+rep to me for searching! :p

    0.4 pounds... is that negligible?

You may want to consider that the black Macbook comes with a 160GB hard drive (versus the MBP's 120GB) and an 8x DVD burner (versus the MBP's 6x). If you need a bigger screen, discrete graphics card, or slightly fast processor, the MBP may be for you. Otherwise, the Blackbook is a great deal.

I actually want the blackbook but not with 160gb. It's way too much. I'd immediately go for the MBP, but alas, it's a bit too big.

Not wasting anyone's time. With PCs they tell you the laptop will weight 5lb and has a 5 hours battery life, when you get the laptop it actually weights more and battery life under normal usage is much less. That's why I'm asking the question, to clarify.

YOU stop wasting your time by READING what i asked in the first place, so you don't have to write that long response you wrote in the first place (which was actually appreciated, and I wouldn't have said this if you hadn't told me to waste other people's time).
