As you know, im trying out mac and i was backing up my music which were rated on win 7 itunes. i burned them on dvds, copied them over to mac. BAM... no ratings.
Any way I can back up the ratings from the win7 itunes and put them on my mac? I wouldnt mind re-burning everything.
I also have a dsl + router connecting the mac and win7 laptops.

I believe if you move the whole itunes folder from your windows computer to the mac, all the album art, ratings, etc. will transfer as well.

Yeah, copy over your iTunes library and it should be there.

Do you have an external hard drive? If so, then move the iTunes folder from your PC to the HDD then from the HDD to the Mac. Or you can move it over your network.

i dont use itunes on Windows, but there should be a main itunes music folder you can just move the whole folder over... it has all the info in it like stars.. .and play counts... etc... I know that works from Mac to Mac...

Somewhere (not sure where Windows stores it) but there should be an "iTunes Music Library.xml" file. This is where all your info is stored and needs to be transferred over. On Mac it's stored in /Users/<username>/Music/iTunes
