Does Diablo 2 w/expansion work on Leopard? Does it need any fixes or patches for it to properly work? I heard some people saying it does not work properly.

I have a macbook with the GMA 955 graphics card.

Hrm... don't see why it would not work since it worked in Tiger.

But since you can't render it through anything other than Software mode, I recommend playing it under XP. It will look SO MUCH BETTER!

It hasn't stopped working for me. You just need to set it to run in Software mode.

The GMA 955 can't do it in 3d mode? It can render WOW just fine.

I actually have to re-buy the game because I lost a couple of the cd's. I'm wondering if it will run decent or not. If not i'll get a larger HD first so I can properly dual boot xp.

I'd rather run it in OS X then windows. Everything should work fine I would think. The hardware is better then it says it needs for 3d and I should be able to play online with my friends who run windows and have it with blizzard online or direct play.

    Deleted because i'm an idiot.

And yeah if you have bootcamp it might be worth using it in xp rather than OSx emulation. It should, however, work decently well either way.

yeah it works just fine, Just finished getting it all installed. I previously ran it on a macbook with the GMA 950 on tiger. I just tryed it on the MBA with the x3100 and as well it ran fine. In all cases all graphics were turned to peaks.

It cannot run in 3d mode because it was written for OS 9 and OS X does not support its rendering methods. At least not on intel. It CANNOT be run in hardware mode. Period, end of story.

Thank you for the advice. It seems strange the new os can't render it at all. Maybe just running it on the windows side would be better.

I think it revolves around Rosetta not being able to handle OpenGl code written for OS 9.

But yeah, it looks loads better on XP than OS X.

I recommend trying Titan Quest. $30 off Steam. Plays like Diablo, but they're fixed a lot of the issues that bugged me. Primarily bag storage space and they added in an easy way to mule things between toons. It's a really good game and looks terrific.

D2 does run in leopard, but because of emulation you have to run in software rendering mode.

Titan Quest won't run on the GMA 955 video card. I've tried it in windows :)
