    Dell XP disc for boot camp

    Hello, i have the dell xp disc from and older computer i do not want to use anymore and was wondering if i can use that for boot camp on the Mac osx. thanks alot if you can help

    Yes it does work, but you may need the key from the sticker on the bottom of the PC.

    Having owned many Dells before (not proud of it or anything...) it will most likely not work as Dell XP OEM disks are tied to system Bios for bypassing activation. That's why you never actually activated XP. And being an OEM copy means that its licence is tied to that Dell machine for life.

    Anyone, please correct me if I'm wrong. I have been known to have gotten things like this one wrong before.

    It is actually illegal to use that disc. It is an OEM copy thus cannot be legally transfered, and in all likelihood it will not work.
