I've been trying to back up some old movies (.avi files mostly) to DVD+RW's on my sr mbp. Every time I burn to a DVD the wizard comes up with an error saying that it cannot verify the disk after burning. When I run the disk utility verifyer it says:

    Invalid file clump size
(It should be 1048576 instead of 8192)

...every time! Often, the repair disk button is shaddowed out as well so I can't try to repair it.

Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong, or can you suggest any tips?

First thing I would do is ditch the -RW. There is really no reason to use them since the non-rewritables are so cheap. See if that helps.
