Anyone have problems with Handbrake? I used it to convert several DVD's that I have to my iTunes. The movies play in iTunes, but when I go to sync my iPod, they wont copy over. I receive an error message that the video format is not supported. They are .mp4 movie files. I had used a program in the past called DVD to iPod Converter that I purchased, and it converted the DVD's to .mp4 files and they played fine in both iTunes and on my iPod. Playback on some of the movies is a bit choppy with iPod Converter, so a friend of mine had told me about Handbrake. Playback on it is great, they just wont copy over to my iPod. I'm using the latest version, 0.9.1

It's probably because of the size. I'm not sure exactly how the iPod handles it, but several PMPs I've used have a limit to the resolution of the video. The DVD to iPod converter is probably just shrinking them down. There should be an option in Handbrake to reduce the size,. Don't know if you want them all iPod size, though, cause then it would suck to watch them on your computer.

What iPod do you have? Did you use the iPod Preset in HandBrake?

@ system 159: I'll primarily be watching them on the iPod. I'm going to be doing a lot of travelling in the Spring and Summer, so I want to get a few of my favorite concert DVD's on my iPod for flights and such.

@ Xander: I've got the 5th Gen 30gig video iPod. I've tried using the Normal, iPod Low and Hi-Rez presets. None of them will work on my iPod

I have the same iPod, mine is white. I just encoded a single chapter of Batman Begins straight from the DVD with the HandBrake "iPod High-Rez" Preset. Copied the .MP4 into iTunes 7.6 (29) and then to my iPod with software version 1.2.3 formatted as "Macintosh" and it worked fine.

    What format is your iPod?

Same iTunes version, and same software version, formatted for Mac.
