I had my computer picked up for repairs by DHL, because of two dead pixels in the middle of the screen.

When the guy picked it up, he didn't ask for a signature, a name, he just scanned the thing and said have a good day. I asked him for a receipt, and he said DHL doesn't do those - and asked if it were a computer, I said yes - he asked if it was a dell Dell, I told him no.

Afterwards, he took it to his truck and threw it deep inside the compartment in the back.

I'm getting butterflies in my stomach.. this guy, couldn't make much more than $10/h, would he have incentives to steal the MBP? I wonder if he could just delete the record of scanning my box, then keep it and leave me in the dark.

Ahh, darn Apple for sending me one with dead pixels. I wouldn't have to worry about this.

Couriers, especially poor quality ones like DHL, do hire very dodgy acting people. However, all your parcels are logged, so you will get reimbursed should any be lost. Just make sure you have backed up all your important data and erased all confidential information before you send anything back to anyone for repairs.

I had it for just one day. I ran Adium/Firefox from the disc file, because I couldn't figure out where the Application Folder was..

I got used to the one-click mechanism too easily, I clicked on an icon and waited for a long time before realizing I had to double click on this PC.
