I'm still trying to adjust to the new OS, so here is a problem with creating folders. I have a Seagate FreeAgent 500GB External HD and I'm trying to create a folder using OS X. They only give me the options for "New Smart Folder" and did not allow me to simply create a New Folder. What is a Smart Folder and how can I create an ordinary folder so I can simply click and drag files into it? Thanks for your help in my transition into Mac OS X!

Format your Seagate to FAT32 or HFS+. You currently have it on a FS that is incompatible with OS X.

Is HFS+ and FAT32 the only options? It would be cool to choose a format (other than FAT32) that is compatible with Windows as well...

Thanks. I'm going to try to install that program on Mac. I installed BootCamp and Windows XP Professional as well so I guess I can do all the transferring in necessary in Windows.

I would say that changing from ntfs to fat is not hard at all, all you need to do is goole search software that can do this job. I know that PQ magic can definitely do this job
